It's His Resurrection Day

Yesterday, Black Saturday was mourning day. Silent and Solemnity was observed not only in the city but also in the other provinces here in the Philippines. Later at night, people gathered in the church for Easter Vigil.

Today, very early in the morning, a dawn ceremony that we called (Salubong/Tagbo) “meeting” happened, wherein statues of the Resurrected Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mother Mary, are brought in procession part ways. All the men followed the statue of Jesus Christ while all women followed the statue of Virgin Mother Mary, until both statues met on the church, visualizing the first reunion of Jesus Christ and His Mother Mary after He Resurrected. The black veil of Mother Mary was then pulled by the leader of the little girls dressed as angels while singing Regina Coeli, signifying the end of Her sorrow as well as the sorrow of all Jesus Christ’s followers, us. Then, the Joyous Easter Mass followed. Happy Resurrection Day to all.

Regina Coeli
Regina caeli, laetare, alleluia:
Quia quem meruisti portare. alleluia,
Resurrexit, sicut dixit, alleluia,
Ora pro nobis Deum, alleluia.
...translation...

Queen of Heaven, be joyful, alleluia:
For He whom you merited to bear, alleluia,
Has risen, as He said, alleluia.
Pray for us to God, alleluia.
Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.
