What's Up With Chizka?

Chizka is turning 1 year old this December 30. I can't believe how time flies so fast that my little turd is now getting older. I anticipated for her 2nd heat cycle because by that time, I'll let her mate so she'll get pregnant. It would be a lot of work and worst, it'll be sensitive to take care of a pregnant dog. I haven't experienced taking care of a pregnant dog. I was very young when I witnessed our dog gave birth to about 5 or 6 puppies before.and that that time I didn't understand what was going on let alone being assigned to take care a dog.
Anyway, however sensitive it will be I will definitely carry the task of taking care my Chizka during her pregnancy in the future. I really do hope she can give me even about four puppies so I can sell them and earn profit. Lol. Well, I only want to see how Chizka's babies would look like. There is a pure-breed Pomeranian here in the neighborhood (actualy Chizka's dad) and its owner was enthusiastic about the idea of having 75% Pomeranian puppies. Do you think it is okay?

Is Your Home Safe?

If I didn’t randomly browse online, I didn’t learn about Chinese drywall and its harmful effect to our health and home as reported. It didn’t appear on my search that Philippines have this defective drywall from China. It was only stated that starting 2001, United States imported drywall manufactured in China. After conducting laboratory test, it was identified that Chinese drywall emits sulfur gases and other harmful chemicals which are harmful to human health and even to electrical wiring, copper pipe and  silver jewelry. It as well damages home furnishings and fabrics.

There are several reports of health and home issues widespread over the US caused by Chinese drywall. Some reported health problems include nosebleeds and sinus problems, allergies, breathing difficulty and asthma, rashes and headaches. On home issues, you’ll suffer electrical and piping failures as Chinese drywall causes copper wires and pipes to rust. This really is a big problem isn’t it?

To avoid risking our health and home from these defective drywall, we should check whether the place we called home is free from toxic. How do you know your homes or condos are built with defective Chinese drywall? Your home is built with Chinese drywall:
  • when it is remodeled between 2001 and 2008
  • when there is a sulfur or rotten-egg smell when windows and doors are closed
  • When you and your family suffer allergies, nose bleeds, upper-respiratory problems and other symptoms that totally disappear when you leave the place for good
  • when there is repeated coil corrosion in your air conditioning unit
  • when electrical wirings and pipes in your home corrode or rust
When you are having these problems with Chinese drywall, you can seek help from a Chinese drywall lawyer to help you solve this problem. Don’t risk the health of your family and your home. Take action now!

Cheers to all of us thieves!

1. If you could interview anyone on your blog (alive or dead) who would you chose and why? If I could, I would invite Martha Stewart. I so admire her DIY, home and living ideas, cooking and gardening ideas.

2. What do you feel is your strength as a blogger? I can write, speak and understand English good, not excellent though, but it is good enough.

3. Can you share a little bit about yourself that you have not already mentioned on your blog? I've nothing more to share up to this moment about my life.

4. If you were forced to change the name of your blog, what would you change it to? Why? I would like to change it with Chuchie's Online Lair because it sounds cool.

5. What do you think is the most fulfilling part of being a blogger? Enjoying the blogging work while earning.

6. What would you do with your last day if you found you had only one more day to live?

7. You’ve been doing medical research for decades and have finally found a cure. What was it that you found a cure for and why did you choose this particular ailment? A cure for Throat Cancer. I saw my grandpa slowing dying with Throat cancer because of smoking. The thing is, government sell smokes. Once you are addicted with smoke, it is so hard to get away from it. I, myself is experiencing that. Sellers of smoke need to sell smokes too for income. Therefore, there should also be someone who sells a cure for the possible diseases we can get from smokes.

8. What is your most guilty pleasure? It is food, Super hot and spicy Lucky Me Pancit Canton with boiled egg sliced in cubes. I let one of my classmates tried it but she was disgusted with the idea of adding egg. So I never let anyone try it no more.

9. Answer only one. What is your favorite book, movie or TV show? Purpose Driven Life

10. What do you think is the very best smell in the world? The one smell that can take you back to a time and place of a very vivid memory in your past? A smell of a new notebook. It brings back old memories when my mother used to take me to the market to buy new notebooks for me. A smell of a new notebook reminds of "first-day-of-class" and "balon" (money for snacks).

It is better late than never, so allow me to greet you a late Thanksgiving. Have you caught enough Turkeys to munch?
Thanksgiving Myspace Comments

I am sure by now all of you who celebrated Thanksgiving are filled with Turkey meats and maybe some pumpkin pies. Hubby and I talked earlier today about their Thanksgiving celebration. Hubby didn't able to catch a turkey but he was able to eat some pieces of Turkey meat and fell asleep with full belly. He then complained about getting full when he got up to think there were still a lot of food left to eat on the table. Hmmn, I wish I can catch all those sweets that's left on their table. I don't mind not having turkey, I haven't tried it anyway.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who reside in the US most especially to my hubby (he is constantly reading my blog) and my in-laws. I may not be celebrating Thanksgiving with you physically but online I will be. So please spare me some Turkey skin.

There are a lot of things to be thankful about whether it is Thanksgiving Day or not but there are times though that we forget to give thanks. That’s why, maybe, there is Thanksgiving Day to remind us that we have to give thanks for all the blessings we continuously receive.

As for me, I am thankful that I am still here in this world that has the ability to continue giving love to my family, relatives and to my husband. I am thankful that I can still feel the love they shower me everyday in return. I am thankful that I continuously receive God’s blessings to share and problems to solve. I am thankful that I am still breathing God’s love.

I am thankful to my family for always being there for me through good and bad times. I am thankful to my parents for letting me live in this world and giving me an honor to be their eldest child. I am thankful to my siblings for giving me an honor to be their strict but loving big sister. Thank you God you made them my family.

I am thankful to my husband for his love, understanding, respect, trust and support. I am thankful to my husband's parent for making him although 20 years ahead. I am thankful to the Internet that served as my bridge to meet him 4 years ago. Thank you God you made him my husband.

I am thankful to my dog, Chizka for always accompanying me day and night. I am thankful of the time when she pisses me off to exercise my brows, forehead, heart and the angry side of my brain. I am thankful of the time when she gets so silly that I can't help myself not to laugh.
I am thankful to my friends, real or not, for making me drunk once in a while. I am thankful to them all for all the food and beer times they are sharing with me.

Above all, I am thankful to God for his undying love.

Migraine Attack and Some Rants

I don't understand why I've been sick lately. Just recently I suffered shingles and now with migraine. My resistance to fight against sickness is not high enough to guard my poor self. I wonder about me getting migraine though for there is no reason for it. I've been sleeping right lately to give my eyes and head their proper rest. What I hate about this is the need to visit a doctor. Again? I am so done hearing their "bs" regarding my test results. Well I know we need doctors in our lives but the last doctor I encountered left me a very bad impression. She seemed in a hurry in conducting the test regarding the bumps growing on my face. In the end, she gave me prescriptions and know what, the test cost more than the medicines.

Anyway, forgive me for ranting. Hubby is just busy with work right now that I cannot talk and rant to him so, I hope you, my visitors and readers you can endure.

My Brother To Proceed Second Semester

I was not talking lately about my brother. I was just too busy with other things that I forgot talking about him and on how happy I was when I received his final marks. His marks said he can proceed to  2nd semester in BS Marine Technology. I was in shock when I saw high marks. I honestly didn't expect it. Maybe I was belittling my brother too much. He cant blame me though for he gave my parents a lot of headache back in high school for having to attend 2 years in first year and 2 years in 4th year so of course, I was expecting headaches from him too. Opps, sorry bro for revealing that.
Just last 13th of November, he officially introduced his girlfriend to the family. I then realized how he got that high marks in school. He has inspiration! I can say, I am thankful to the his girl for making my brother's zigzag head straight. I am hoping he'll continue to do good in school. It is for his own good to think he is a man and he is to be the one who should work and make money for his own family in the future.

If I am in a hurry or feeling lazy to cook and want an easy-to-prepare satisfying meal, a bowl of noodle soup with egg is the best. Since I love spicy foods, I usually add chili to it as you can see. I usually prepare this during the morning while yawning yet trying to wake myself up over a cup of coffee. Well, this can be a great midnight snack too so I am leaving this to you all for I'll be sleeping early tonight. Enjoy!

Awesome Grandfather Clocks

It nice to see antique objects displayed around the house most especially a grandfather floor clock that chimes. I have visited houses that have these kinds of antiques. There are really some people who like keeping these valuable things even though these are used in the very old days. Even though some are worn out or some sides are chipped due to old age, the house owners still display their grandfather clocks at the preferred corner of their houses. These kinds of clocks though be likely expensive and sometimes are very hard to find. That’s why, once you have it, it is better to display it or use it.

For the love of antiques, some are trying to find an exact model of an antique grandfather clock like the howard miller grandfather clocks. These are then called the new grandfather clocks. Although these new grandfather clocks are designed in a more stylish scheme, these still preserved the historic feel. Therefore, one can still think it was acquired decades ago. There are awesomely designed grandfather clocks I found online. Awesome as being said, these clocks would really make you hopeful to have one displayed on the platform of your stairway and to hear it chimes at twelve midnight.

Rants on Busy and Sickly Days

I was away for several days. I was at my hometown celebrating the fiesta. We only had a little preparation for the fiesta enough for the family and some visitors. When I got back the other day, I was busy cleaning the house again for Chizka made a lot of mess. Then later in the afternoon, I received few visitors and stayed for a night here in the house. So I was quite busy these past few days.

Also, I was having chicken pox for the second time. Most of the bumps appear on my face and neck area. I couldn’t believe it at first but the doctor said it is possible to have chicken pox twice if your immunity level to this skin virus is low although this case is very rare. This time this is called shingles. Don’t ask me why it is named shingles for I have no idea. I am just glad that I got a mild one and didn’t have a fever. I am advised to take honey water bath everyday to help with the itch and have some antiviral medicines to avoid from spreading. Thank God I have a so-called “doctor mom”, she let me take the right medicines 3 days before I went to the doctor. The bumps are healing now.

Check Web Host Ratings and Reviews

Are you planning to be independent online by having your own web host for your website? Before deciding to get one, I suggest you to visit sites with ratings and reviews of web hosts first to get an idea on which web host is best for your needs. There are several website hosting rating sites you can refer online. One is Web Hosting Rating. As what the name of the site implies, Web Hosting Rating has ratings and reviews of the best web hosts you can find on the Internet. From there you can get ideas from checking on the ratings and reading on the reviews from real people who have tried the particular web hosting on its list.

While checking on the said web hosting rating site, I saw cheap web hosting with best reviews and ratings. So, checking on ratings and reading on reviews of a particular web host is very beneficial to the users, most especially for the beginners, for it is like acquiring the best quality of web hosting that suits best the users’ needs. The top web host I saw on the list cost only $4.95 per month that comes with unlimited sites, space and bandwidth. Its U.S. Technical Support is open 24/7 for anytime assistance. Now if you feel unsatisfied with web host’s service, there is 90-day full money back guarantee. So come and check it out!

What have hubby and I accomplished? I guess the biggest thing we have accomplished so far was to create a family starting from getting engaged, followed by getting married and then making a home where our little family that happened to be only me and him lives. A small family, indeed!

After all the ups and downs of the first month of our relationship, the break-up and all the nasty words being said towards each other, we still ended up being a wedded couple. Looking back in the past, we would only smile remembering our first fight, our first make-up after fight and all that good stuffs. Although we didn’t able to accomplish the grandest thing we wished to accomplish, we both hope we will be given enough time to accomplish it all.

Using My External Monitor To A Toshiba Laptop

Shown in the photo above is a Toshiba Sattelite X205-S9349 laptop. This is the second laptop I received from hubby. He handed this down to me not too long ago. Accidentally, the screen of this laptop's monitor was broken. Nothing can be seen on its screen no more when you turn it on. I know there are computer repair shops that can repair broken computer screen but I am worried about it's screen lining being surrounded by risky chemicals. Not to take the risk, I thought this computer is no longer useful but I was totally wrong.

I tried connecting my new Samsung external monitor to this Toshiba laptop by connecting one end of the VGA cable to the VGA port found on the laptop and one end to the external monitor.
A VGA cable is this blue plug (you can see in the picture below) that is connected to its proper port on the laptop. And the other end is connected to the back of the monitor as shown on the other picture below.
Now to get my extended monitor working, I turned the laptop on and then close the lid back. Automatically, the pictures that should be shown on the laptop screen transferred to my external monitor. If it does not work on your computer, here's what you should do. After clicking the power button of your laptop, press and hold down function key or Fn while holding down the hot key on your laptop. The hot key is the one with a monitor icon on it, usually an F5 key. Hold these two keys down until your external monitor works.

So now I got my laptop working! I use it with an external monitor, external mouse and external keyboard. I like using this laptop better that my desktop PC for this has a  wide memory of 221 GB. This laptop loads so fast!

Cute Couple Pet Names

For pet lovers out there, you can now find cute names for your pets. There are really times in our lives when doing a very simple task seems so hard to do just like naming our pets. Naming my dog Chizka took me a week before coming up with a name I wanted for her. There was a lot of brainstorming. It was just like naming your children after birth and so, as much as possible, you want every name to be special. But the more you think of a special name, the more you become confused. That’s when you need name suggestions.

There is a site that offers a lot of names for your pets. You can use the names listed in the site as suggestions or simply use the names for your pets as they are. I am hooked on Cute Couple Pet Names, Yogi & Booboo. It is kind of a coincident because just recently, I thought about getting a male dog as Chizka’s mate when she turned 1 year old. I think it won’t be too late to change her name into Yogi and name her mate into Booboo.

Anyway, today's meme is based upon the Versatile Blogger award which was recently passed on to us.

The requirement of the award is to list 7 things that you haven't mentioned before.

1. I am addicted with Korean and Taiwanese dramas and movies lately.

2. I am suffering from smoke withdrawal as of the moment.

3. Slow connection can boil my blood easily.

4. I finally realized that here in front the computer is where I am good at.

5. No one, other than my family, had seen me wearing my glasses.

6. Red Wine is my favorite drink of all time.

7. I am inspired.

The last 3 questions of today's Monday Mayhem are donated questions for Thursday Thunks which seems to be possibly having issues acquiring questions....simply answer each prompt with a usable question. Thursday Thunks appreciates random and silly questions as much as the real kind.
8. Comparing , such as apples and oranges.
Why apples are called apples and not reds or greens while oranges called oranges?
9. Politicians.
Why do politicians have to corrupt when they already have big salaries to put in their pockets?
10. The oddest food you've ever heard of or tasted.
Durian for me is the oddest food I have ever tasted. I wonder why some people can dare eat it when it smells better than its taste.

How's your Friday everyone? When was my first Food Trip posted? Well, I couldn't remember. I have to run through my archives to know the certain date. So yes, it's quite been a while. Tonight, I am sharing some leftover from what my mother served on All Saint's Day in the Philippines. Talking about that day, there is one special choice of food usually served and that is sweetened glutinous rice of any colors: brown, white and purple.  This picture was taken early morning on Nov. 2. This was my breakfast.

Are we drunk? Well, we were only tipsy when this photo was taken recently at my friend's house. Hubby was mad at me after telling him I got my few shares of Red Horse beer and got drunk. He thought I was surrounded by men but actually, I was surrounded by women who were also drunk.  Well, at least I got home safely, threw up and went to bed soundly.
