How will you react when after 6 years, you'll meet the man who used to say "I love you" to you doesn't  know you, or doesn't even think you existed...the man you loved and still love...the father of your child?

I am crazy for this Taiwanese drama. For the second time, after Taiwanese Meteor Garden, I am haunted again by a Taiwanese drama and this time is it not Jerry Yan who leads but the Taiwanese F4 heartthrob, Vanness Wu. I couldn't stop thinking of the story and the characters of the casts most especially the ever sweet-faced Ady An who sacrificed her happiness for love. She is a natural actress as she carried her role naturally. Vanness Wu on the other hand gave his best in acting. This drama brings out the real actor in him.

Autumn's Concerto
(Next Stop, Happiness)
or
I Love You So on Abs-Cbn

Cast:
Ady An as Liang Mu Cheng (Michelle)
Vanness Wu as Ren Guang Xi (Stanley)
Tiffany Xu as He Yi Qian, Guang Xi's fiancee
Chris Wu as Hua Tuo Ye, Mu Cheng's best friend
Xiao Xiao Bin as Liang Xiao Le, Mu Cheng and Guang Xi's son
Sypnosis:
Ren Guang Xi or Stanley (Vanness Wu), a cocky law student, seems to lead the perfect life. He’s the sole successor to a huge and famous business and a talented ice hockey player with good looks and charisma to boot. But in reality, his lonely life lacks joy, laughter and motivation. That is until he meets Liang Mu Cheng or Michelle (Ady An), the new bento seller at his school canteen. Although orphaned at a young age, Mu Cheng does not let her past affect her and lives life with great passion and determination. A harmless bet brings the two together and Guang Xi slowly changes as Mu Cheng teaches him how to give and love. Tragedy strikes when Guang Xi suddenly has to go through a major brain surgery, that world result in waking up with no memory of his past at all. His mother orders Mu Cheng to leave him and the latter has no choice but to do so. Later she learns that she already has Guang Xi’s child.
Why I am still crazy about this drama? Because I've watched it already on its original version in Mandarin Chinese language and I did fall in love with the story, from the beginning to end. Until now, I am still haunted and in love with the story which made me cry, furious, laugh and smile. There are some twists in the story that would really amaze you and could leave your mouth open at that. The main stars, Ady and Vanness, portrayed their characters very well. Xaio XaioBen, who played the rule of Xiao Le, Michelle and Stanley's son is super cute. She is such a talented kid actor. You'll fall in love with him too. Well, I am inlove with the whole Ren family and I can't get over it yet. This really is a good drama to watch with the whole family. I actually looked forward to watch this dubbed in Tagalog (Filipino language) on Abs-Cbn but sadly, I already missed a week. I am glad I found a site with videos of last week's episodes. You can watch it here.

Food Trip Friday: Sauteed Shrimp Paste

A day before yesterday, my youngest sister accompanied me at the wet market to buy a kilo of fish and some vegetables. We planned on cooking fried fish and fish sinigang for dinner that day. While at wet market, after buying everything we needed to buy, these pinkish shrimp paste caught our attention. Our father used to cook sauteed shrimp paste and we believe that only him cooks it the best. My sister who has a culinary subject in school thought to challenge herself. She wanted to try her ability to sautee' shrimp paste. Besides, it's been a long while since we last tasted it so why not? So, I got her a tablespoon of shrimp paste that cost five pesos.

When we arrived home, it was already 5 in the afternoon so I then started cooking fried fish and sinigang. As requested, I left the shrimp paste for my sister to sautee.  When done cooking, I went upstairs to check on my bloggies, leaving my sister at the kitchen facing her little challenge in trying to copy papa's sautee'. After few minutes, she called me down saying dinner is ready. I went down and was surprised to what I saw. The sauteed shrimp paste didn't just look yummy but pretty because she did a little garnishing on it. She said it's what she learned in school. Hmmn...I tasted and yes, a sprinkle of it on top of my rice can already fill me up!

Viruses and Slow Internet Connection

I am facing serious online work problem lately. My computer screwed up because of two Trojan viruses that were attacking its system. Because of that, my online works screwed up too. I thought I got it treated immediately by rebooting my computer but I was wrong. The viruses were still running and slowly attacking my computer as these viruses are self-installed that I got from random sites I visited. Luckily, Google referred this free spy ware removal software from PC Tools called spy ware doctor. Worried for my computer to be totally crashed down by these self-installed viruses, I then downloaded and installed spy ware doctor right away. After a successful installation, spy ware doctor immediately removed the viruses. What a relief! I still got the spy ware doctor running to protect my computer against any virus attacks.

When I solved my problem with the viruses, another problem aroused and that was slow internet connection. The connection was not just slow; sometimes it just went off for an hour or two that really freaked me out. The lag was just unacceptable and knowing my temper when it comes to waiting, it really got me mad to the extent of complaining about it to the provider. If only there is satelite internet connection offered here in our area, I could have switched already a long time ago. Given a reason of having a bad weather was a lame excuse because my internet connection was still running slow even the sun was shining brightly. It’s been like that for about two weeks.

It is time for shoot me, so shoot me. Here are photos of me taken recently. These two photos below of me wearing yellow top were taken 3 days ago.

It's been quite a while since I weighed myself so I do not know how heavy I am now. I thought I lost weight but I guess not. Lol. The photos show I didn't.

This picture above was taken last night during my red wine session with a close friend of mine. She is the one who just started a new blog named Sunshine's Comfort Zone. We were quite hit by red wine already in this photo but we managed to smile for the camera.

If you are here right now in this blog, I want you to scroll down. You'll see down here my page rank, it is PR 4 now! Thank you Google. It is Google that ranks our blogs or sites right? It took me awhile to absorb this good news. I noticed my blog PR yesterday while showing my blog to my friend, Elben a.k.a. Sunshine who visited me that day. She seemed a lucky charm.  She asked me to teach her about blogging saying I inspire her. It is nice to know you inspire someone and Elben, so far is just one of the three. Like other two friends whom I inspired, Elben then decided to start her new blog. Visit her at Sunshine's Comfort Zone

Back to the good news about this blog's PR, I am more than happy with it. I mean I am content. I don't care of raising the PR to 5, 4 is more than fine but if Google will grant me a higher, I will not say no. This blog's worth it! After three years of maintaining its PR 3, this blog finally stepped up. After three years of working this blog out, I finally got the fruit of my labor. I hope I'll be able to maintain this new blog's PR. I am just so happy with it...!

TCP: Clash of Titans

Clash of the Titans starring Sam Worthington as Perseus is my favorite 2010 movie. Well, I am into sword movies and my new favorite actor now is Sam Worthington so no wonder, among 2010 released movies, Clash of the Titans reigned the highest rank in my list. I started liking Sam Worthington's acting in Avatar, which is my all-time favorite movie so far.
I already mentioned two of the reasons why Clash of the Titans is my favorite 2010 movie. Other reasons are: (1) it is not a boring movie for there are some funny scenes, (2) there is Greek history, which I like, and (3) although the sword fights were not that excellent, I found Sam very graceful when handling swords.

Clash of the Titans is a remake of the movie with the same title released in 1981 about the Greek myth of a mortal son of god (Zeus) named Perseus (portrayed by Sam Worthington) as he embarked on a perilous journey to fight the underworld from spreading their devilish plan to Earth and heavens and to save the Princess Andromeda from being sacrificed to the Kraken.

I Pimp My Little Abode

I mentioned on my other site about me and youngest sister’s plan for the last weekend to redo the placement of my furniture or generally tidying my house but she decided to go home at the last minute because of our town’s Sinulog festival. She just couldn’t afford to miss the festival. Understanding a teen’s enthusiasm to festivals and her passion in dancing, I let her go. So I was left alone. I was randomly browsing online when I hopped on a site with photos of edinburgh apartments. I was hooked for a few by all the lovely apartment settings and then decided to do the tidying of my little abode all by myself. Why not? Since it is already inserted in my schedule, I thought of just doing it than messing my schedule up. Besides, my computer screwed up. It shut down on me few hours after I was left alone.

So above are photos of the living room. My unit is small so it was just easy; the cleaning and all. The divider is back leaning on the wall again to have a wider space even just a bit, which was formerly placed by the stairs. I changed the curtains too into new ones. I actually thought of putting on blinds but I didn’t found one here that I like. I cleaned my bedroom too and changed its settings. Now I move the bed by the door and have  my new corner by the small window used as my little office.

Looking at my tidied room now made me wonder how I did it myself. Well, I am glad I was able to peek on the photos of Edinburgh apartments for it inspired me. I started moving the things around 4:00 in the afternoon and finished around 12:00 midnight.

I received two post mails from two of my online friends. Enclosed in both mails are holiday greetings. Thank you so much my dears. I owe you both.

The first mail was from the Dias Family in Texas, the ever great Demcy and Greg. Thank you so much sis Dhemz and Mr. Greg for the holiday greetings and for sharing us your family newsletter. This is my second time being your family newsletter recipient and it is my great honor to know more about your family. Reading throughout your newsletter just give me an idea  of how lovely your family is. I also thank blogger or blogspot for it is where I met Demcy. God bless you Dias Family!

The second mail is from my newest online friend, Anita. She and her husband Bruce Parmelee sent the mail. I first met the sweet Anita on Friendster. She approached me first and it was the start of our friendship. She was engaged then to Bruce who is her husband now. Although we haven't met yet and we are of different race, making friends with her was easy for she is very friendly. We are currently getting in touch with each other on Facebook hoping to keep our friendship going. God bless you Parmelee Family!

Here are the enclosed holiday cards (one is from the Dias Family and the other one is from the Parmelee's) and the Dias family newsletter.
Belated Merry Christmas to you from me and my husband. We wish you a prosperous 2011!

It is time for the tastiest trip again. This time, hubby is the one sharing a picture for the food trip, which is the picture below.

shell noddles with white cheese sauce and shrimp,
chicken breast cooked on the forman grill and a piece of garlic texas toast

That was his dinner the other night. It looks yummy but unfortunately, I never got the chance to taste any of these foods. He shared this to me around 12 noon (Phil. time) for a reason, he wanted to make me hungry for I used to skip breakfast and lunch even when he was here. Well, he succeeded.

Effective Protection Against Diaper Rash

This post brought to you by Boudreaux's Butt Paste. All opinions are 100% mine.

Mothers care their babies like precious and fragile crystals. Every rash and mark they spot on their babies’ skin brings a strike of pain into their hearts. That’s how mothers give love to their babies. According to my mom, she never tolerated a single mosquito to land on my precious skin, much more on rash and irritation to appear.

I can relate to these mothers although I am not a mother yet. I assisted my mother in giving my younger siblings their sanitation when they were little. My cousins as well have babies and I never greed my helping hands with simple tasks like changing their babies’ diapers. With diapers though, rashes sometimes easily appear on a baby’s skin. Because a baby’s skin is sensitive, getting soaked up in wet diaper for hours can cause immediate skin rashes. Whenever this problem occurs, Boudreaux's Butt Paste is always on the rescue.

Almost all moms I bet are using Boudreaux's Butt Paste for their babies. It is on top list of Pediatricians’ recommended skin protection for babies because of its effective result. It is even featured on the famous TV shows like Oprah Show, ESPN and even on People Magazine. Aside from being an effective protection against chafed and irritated skin, Boudreaux's Butt Paste as well is easy to use or apply. Its protection formula includes 16% zinc oxide and Peruvian balsam that easily treats diaper rash and relieves skin irritation. It also has pleasant scent so the smell really won’t bother your baby from getting a good sleep.

It’s a stolen shot of me and two of my friends. The other friend of mine was able to notice the camera that she gave her cutest smile but the three of us totally ruined the picture. See how funny my pose was? Or do you know where I am in the picture? In case you don't know, I am the one who has the pink pouch. I laugh out loud the first moment I saw this photo, my pose is just so funny. This, by the way was taken during our high school’s alumni homecoming last December 30, 2010 held in our school campus. If you noticed, we are wearing printed shirts in the picture. It is our batch 2003 t-shirt and I am proud to say, I am the person behind the design of the print.

My Computer’s Abnormal Conduct Lately

posted by Rechie on

It seems like my computer is slowly giving up on me. No, not the desktop but it’s the laptop (with broken screen) that’s behaving abnormally. These past few days, my laptop just shut down on its own once, sometimes twice a day. I got its sleeping time set at ten in the evening because it’s the time when I regularly go to bed or should I say the time when I force myself to hit the train to the dreamland. But lately, it shut down suddenly during daytime and it’s not nice when I am in the middle of doing my online tasks. It’s really making me mad. I already whined about this to hubby and that maybe it’s the battery pack screwing up or it needs replacement.

Well, it would be great to have this laptop replaced with a Tablet personal computer. Since I have a desktop computer, giving this laptop up would be alright. Besides, Tablets are convenient to use and can be taken anywhere. One thing that’s stopping me from giving up this laptop though is the sentimental value. It is the laptop that hubby was using when he first met me online. It was our bridge before hubby handed it down to me three years ago. Counting, this is my second Toshiba laptop. But with this laptop’s abnormal behavior lately, I might have to let it go. Plus, the screen is still broken. I already took it to a repair shop to have its screen fixed but they backed out saying the interior of the lid where the screen is attached is surrounded by risky chemical element. They suggested me to buy a new one instead.

CC: Why Bad Habits Are Hard To Break?

Rodliz’s Nest

I wonder it myself too. Why do bad habits are so hard to break by the way? Maybe because we are used of doing it already for a very long time and doing it is a part of our everyday life. Well, I think though that not really all bad habits are so hard to throw away. There are some of my bad habits I was able to stop in a snap and some took me sometime.

As for my husband and I, there is this bad habit we both have or do that we find so hard to break right away. And that is smoking. Yes baby, I was not able to handle the smoke withdrawal yesterday. I just started smoking yesterday when waking up with all my dog's BS. It's just too hard to fight smoke withdrawal that everytime I am stressed, I am tensed and pissed off, it is the stick of Marlboro Gold I am craving for to keep me calm. Hubby and I both agreed that we will slowly throw away this bad habit. We will slowly ignore the cancer stick and have a healthy life but it will take us quite sometime to be totally smoke-free. I hope we will be able to totally break this bad habit.

Monday Mayhem: The Color Green

posted by Rechie on ,

Wohoo! Green is my mother's favorite color. Almost all her stuffs in the house, from dining furniture to her wall clock is green. Our house (parents') was painted with different shades of green. Mama said green is not her birth color but she loves it. So, whenever we buy her gifts, we make sure we pick something green.

And today/tonight at Monday Mayhem we will be talking about the color green.

1. What is your favorite Green food?

Green Mango is the first thing that popped into my head. Just last week, my cousin visited me with a bag full of green mangoes. We enjoyed pigging on it. Yes pigging for that bag finished in just s snap. Of course, we have to share it with my siblings who are greedy for green mangoes esp. when dipped in hot salted fish.

2. What is your most hated green food?

Okra or Lady's Fingers is one green vegetable I can't and I don't like to eat. Oh please, don't let me taste this saliva food.

3. What is green that grosses you out?
A green snot. I decided not to enclose a photo. Lol! It is scarier than the green snake.

4. What is green that you love?
The green surroundings. The tress, flowers, or anything that has life and gives us life.

5. What is green that you never want to see again?

Rough Green Snake was about to bite me in my dream three of four days ago. Just in my dream, okay? I've never seen green snake for real and never will I wish to see it despite of some having this kind of snake as pets. So this snake was about to bite me in my dream but I stumped its head flat first then I woke up. I wish not to see this snake again in my dream.

6. Have you ever seen a green person?
Yes, a few. There was a person who was so green with envy, a person who was green (new) at our campus back in high school, a person who loves and supports environment, and my own self back in 2008 being a wife. Well, now I am no longer green to that.

7. Have you ever been green?
Whenever I am done cleaning the house I am green. The house is clean and green while I am green with exhaustion.

8. Do you try to be green?
Yes I did buy buying stuffs that is good for the environment.

9. What is the best green thing in the world?
The environment. The trees, flowers, grass or anything green that grows from the earth including moss.

10. What green thing should we avoid?
 I can't think of anything.

I Want To Have A Web Hosting Service

posted by Rechie on ,

I want so much to have self hosted sites but I do not know how and where to start and on what web host I should get. I am also doubtful and afraid I can’t pay a web hosting service fee monthly since my current earnings are just enough to pay my siblings’ monthly tuition fees. Sometimes, I would run to my mom and borrow money when I get short on budget or if my allowance from hubby is delayed. But I’ve been really curious about it since many of my friends said it is best to have your site self hosted. I was even tempted to get one last November but the monthly rates usually made me back out. It’s just too expensive for me. Besides, I am confused with choosing the best web host since almost all web hosting services offer the same deals.

Surfing through web hosting rating sites, I came across HostGator. I checked on hostgator reviews to know how their hosting service works on their users. Host gator has been around since 2002 and claimed as a world-leading provider of web hosting service. Reading on reviews really tempted me for it stated there by their users that HostGator hosting service so far is the greatest and the most reliable hosting service they got. Plus it is hassle free. The hosting promotional price is $174 for two years so it’s like paying $7.25 monthly which I can afford. Wee, I still need to think about it.

Tabasco, Hot Like No Other

This post brought to you by TABASCO® Original Red. All opinions are 100% mine.

Tabasco, this small yet tremendously hot chili pepper is the main ingredient in the famous Tabasco Original Red pepper sauce, which was the very first sauce introduced back in 1868 by McIlhenny family. Tabasco Pepper sauce continuously heating up people’s senses nowadays to give them an idea of a real Tabasco hot pepper. Oh, how I love real hot pepper on my pizza! Talking about this just made me crave for American hot pizza at Circus Cafe. The hot in that American Pizza was courtesy of TABASCO® Original Red pepper sauce, which made it tastier.

I mentioned before in my previous post about how saddened I was when I knew that my favorite pizza house, Circus Cafe in the city had totally closed. It is the only pizza house hubby and I loved among the many pizza houses here. It’s the only pizza house we constantly visited after our first try of their American Hot Pizza. Aside from being friends with the owners of that favorite pizza house of ours, it was the Tabasco heat in pepper sauce they used in the pizza we missed and craved about that never we missed a visit or two every week. I used to munch that pizza too on the cheerer’s bench while watching hubby’s football game, which helped me a lot in giving hubby a "So Much More Than Hot" cheer.

The heat of Tabasco pepper sauce, most especially the original red is so much more than hot indeed but making you crave for more of its heat from every bite. It’s a heat like no other! I overheard one of the costumers in the Cafe asked of a pepper sauce substitute if ever they can’t find Tabasco Pepper Sauce in stores. Well, there is no substitute. Only Tabasco has that one-of-a-kind hot and spicy flavor made from simple combination of Tabasco peppers, vinegar, and salt aged for three years in oak barrels. So it is better to use Tabasco pepper sauce when you cook a dish that requires pepper sauce to enhance the taste. Participating In Snobbish Duck Walk Game

Who says I can't play parlor game in my high heels? Well, those who are raising hands, check these photos taken during our High School's Grand Alumni Homecoming.
Me, on my mark getting ready. The game already started.

Halfway there. See? I was leading! Easy peasy! Ows, I have my pink pouch too?

On the U-turn. The paper plate between my legs almost fell down here.

Glad I was able to return to the finish line without dropping a single paper plate.

I forgot how they called this game but let me just invent a name, I call it "Snobbish Duck Walk". There were 6 paper plates being used and played by four participants of each group. In our game, there were four groups.

The uses of the paper plates:
  • 1 paper plate was clipped by the participant's legs
  • 1 paper plate was clipped by the participant's armpit
  • 1 paper plate was clipped through bending the participant's elbow
  • 1 paper plate was clipped on the side of the participant's neck, bending head down on the shoulder
  • 1 paper plate was clipped by the participant's fingers

I did all these on my left.
  • The sixth and last paper plate was held by the participant's other hand. It is used to fan him/herself throughout the duck walk around the chair positioned on the other end of the line and back to the starting (or finishing) line. Now, imagine how hard it was to walk like that.
You can play this game too. Oh, it was fun! I did enjoy the entire game although we didn't win. We got disqualified when the third player of our group dropped 3 paper plates. If you wonder why I call this game Snobbish Duck Walk is because of the idea of looking up due to bending your head on the side while fanning yourself and walking sexy. Other idea is you'll really snob everyone when you play this game because you have to focus on clipping the paper plates tight to avoid dropping.

Siblings Mid-Term Exam and Their Little Wishes

I am quite in a panic mood because my siblings’ midterm examination is fast approaching and I haven’t collected enough for their tuition fees. Their midterm examination will be this 19th of January that’s why both of them are already busy preparing the notes they need to study. It’s a relief though watching them showing diligence on their studies. The hard work they incessantly show to me is enough reason to inspire and encourage me to let them proceed to a higher year of their education. I am glad they have dreams they are so eager to fulfill unlike my other younger sister who turned out to be the black sheep in the family.

Both my younger brother and youngest sister are giving their best to finish their chosen course to find a nice job in the future and to repay the goodness of our parents. I told them that it will then be their turn to help our parents because I think I have done quite enough. According to my brother, once he’ll get a job aboard, he’ll treat our parents to a boat holiday while my sister said she’ll build our parents their own eatery since both of them are quite good in cooking. Hearing these wishes for our parents from my younger siblings is just so heart-warming and inspiring.

The Rite Movie Trailer

Hubby suggested me to watch the trailer of the new movie titled The Rite that will come up this January 2011. I then looked for the trailer which I found in YouTube. Judging from the soundtrack, The Rite is kind of a scary movie mixed with religion. Watching the trailer twice made me want to watch the movie right now wanting to know what's going on in the movie. There'll be a lot screaming to do, I think. One thing hubby and I know though is that I cannot watch this movie alone. I am looking forward to watch this movie with siblings  during daylight. I hope hubby will get an original copy of it.

Food Trip Friday #8

Happy Friday everyone. Before I go on to my Food Trip share this early Friday, I want to express how much I like the new FTF badge. I super like it, to the highest level! It is really nice, honestly.

So now for my FTF share, here are some roast pig leftovers from my 24th birthday last December 22. This whole roasted pig, aside from having it for my birthday, was also my contribution for our Christmas party here in the villa. It was agreed that the party will be on my birthday so I can contribute a roast pig. That night though on our party, I was smart to chop only some portion of the roast pig for the villa homeowners and their visitors (which are many). I thought, if I displayed this whole roast pig outside it would have been unfair on me for I didn't drag my visitors outside to join our party.
