FTF: Fried Potatos and Fish in Dairy Cream

Good morning to you all! The morning dew feels so refreshing outside and the cuckoos of the roosters sounds like a melody to my ears. This means I am early for my food trip. I am actually hungry. Pan cake's been running in my thoughts since yesterday night. I might experiment after linking this post and make my version of pan cake. Why not?

For my food trip today, I have here a photo, which I took last week. In the photo is a pile cheese-flavored fries and Tanigue fish fried in dairy cream.

I had a half bag of sliced potatoes, which was my sister's leftover from their cooking subject and few slices of Tanigue that I got from the wet market. I actually forgot about the fish. It's been in the freezer for about a month so when I noticed it last week, I thought of preparing it for dinner together with the potatoes.  I melted dairy cream lite on the pan and then fried the potatoes first. When done, I placed the potatoes on a kitchen paper to remove excess oil then sprinkled the powdered cheese. The fish, I sprinkled garlic powder, pepper, powdered onion, salt and meat tenderizer on it before frying on the melted cream on the pan. When done cooking, my sister and I feasted on it. It tasted so good! The melted cream that was used for frying enhanced the flavor. That in the picture was my share. Tsk, I ate a lot of rice.

How I wish she is my daughter. She is just beautiful isn't she?

This is Maja, a distant relative's daughter. They visited one day before hubby left Philippines. Maja and hubby were able to bond. Maja even fell asleep in hubby's arms. It was such a beautiful view worth sharing for JB but for now, let Maja alone reign the spotlight at JB.

Early Morning Craving: Halo-halo

I have a very weird craving at this early morning. It actually feels so cold. I am even shivering right at this very moment while typing on the keys for this post but for some reason I crave for halo-halo, a very cold one with lots of shaved ice.

Below are pictures of semi-special halo-halo that my sister and I shared two weeks ago. The purple yam under the shaved ice and the ice cream above topped with corn flakes are so inviting.

Take a closer look at the ingredients at the bottom. The pictures may look blah to you but I tell you, these halo-halos are heaven next to Chowking's. My sister and I have a favorite place to buy halo-halo, which is located by the boulevard. We always keep coming back to that particular place whenever we need cold treats. We love walking down the boulevard while munching the ice. This semi-special halo-halo costs 20.00 pesos per plastic glass. Affordable isn't it? This is perfect for those who want halo-halo to go and a free tour down Dipolog City boulevard.

Wow! I am so happy! I got very excited upon checking my email (a CC) about my winning after getting up late tonight. Yep, my lazy butt slept all day long. I just got back home from my parents' last night around 11 in the evening and fell asleep as soon as hit the bed. I made a blog post early morning while talking to hubby over the phone and fell asleep again after our conversation and just woke up about 3 hours ago.

Back to my winning, I feel so lucky this year. This is so far the 2nd contest that I won. Thank you so much Lainy for hosting such grand contest! Of course, thanks to the generous sponsors who made Lainy's 3rd Blogoversary possible. Aside from winning awesome prizes off this giveaway, I as well win knowledge with this gravatar thingy. And that, I thank Lainy so much. Thank you again Lainy and to the sponsors. To my co-winners, congratulations to you all!

FTF: Hubby's Style Spaghetti

Please pardon me for being late with my entry for the Food Trip. I am at my hometown to stay with my parents for the the holy week. I planned to stay her until the Palm Sunday. Anyway, I am currently at the cafe just to post my entry for FTF.

I am posting an old photo from my cooking blog, which is currently hidden. I will totally delete that blog once I am done sharing all the food photos from there to here. Today, I am sharing hubby's style Spaghetti.

Ingredients:
1/8 kl. spaghetti noodles
1/4 kl. ground pork
250 grams Italian Style Spaghetti Sauce (you can use any brand but he used RAM)
I whole onion (regualr size), sliced (yes thinly sliced)
8 pieces of ripe/red tomatoes, cubed (we were not able to buy tomato paste so he had to use tomatoes but it still tastes good)
salt and pepper to taste

Procedures:
1. Boil spaghetti noodles (follow the cooking directions at the back of your noodle pack)
2. While cooking your noodles, start sautéing your ground pork on the pan at low heat. Add a little bit of salt and pepper to taste, the sliced onion and the tomatoes.
3. Stir the ground pork on the pan occasionally until the meat turns light brown. Then add the spaghetti sauce. Let it cook for for at least 20 minutes.
4. When your noodles is done, drain it until totally dried up. Then get 3 plates, divide your noodles into 3. Lol! Add the cooked spaghetti sauce to your noodle and then sprinkle Parmesan cheese as much as you want. Enjoy!

It's time for me to be in the picture. If you don't take a picture of me, I'll take a self shot. Lol! This is one of those nights when my younger sis and I play with the camera before sleeping.

This is what we do at night when the computer sleeps on us and when we run out of movies to watch, we'll take photos not to get ourselves bored. Here's another picture and this time I am with sis.
We look different don't we? My face was whiter for I got a facial night cream on and carmex cream for my chapped lips.
I don't know what came to our mind when we took this picture. I think I initiated it. I was checking the polish on my toe nails if it needs to re-polished but sister put her legs up too and so I took a picture of it. Darn, my legs are a lot shorter. Lol!

Just Beautiful: First Valentine Surprise

I am not a materialistic person (really?) but when I am given something, I won't say no. Hello! That in the picture below was the very first Valentine surprise I received  from my husband who was my fiancé at that time. It was 2008 when I received this gift. This was not given to me by him personally for he was not here during that Valentine's day. He was already back at the war zone for work.

Now, how did he manage to give me a Valentine's gift when he was miles away? Well, that superman had this gift hidden somewhere in my old apartment before he left for work from his vacation that year. It was on the first week of January, 2008 when he left. So he had this gift wrapped in hot pink gift bag hidden in my apartment. When we talked on Valentine's day (3 months before our wedding) he told me to find a pink bag hidden somewhere in my apartment for that was his Valentine's gift for me. He hid it above the built-in drawer. He sure had hid it while I was sleeping. Because I am a dwarf, I had to stand up on my study table just to get it. The gift is just beautiful but I am counting on the beauty of my husband's effort just to give his gift on that very first heart's day of mine being an engaged-to-be-married woman.

Marilyn Monroe and Her Quotes

Marilyn Monroe, the sex symbol of her time who was known for her comedic appearances on movies and a probable suicide death. Although I wasn’t born during the time she reined the silver screen, I heard stories of her, good and bad. Well, I am quite a fan; my proofs are two of my shirts with her beautiful face printed on. Although her appearances didn’t last for long, she left unforgettable memories. One that she left to us is her quotes. Check these best quotes by Marilyn Monroe. One of my favorites is "I learned to walk as a baby and I haven't had a lesson since."

The Bar Girls

Ops, it is not what you are thinking. I am talking about the girls who like drinking "The Bar" gin. For sure you are familiar with it. Aside from wine, I am into gin and it is The Bar that I like recently. According to its TV ad, "Alway open The Bar". So whenever my friends and I bond, we always open The Bar as long as we have sponsors.

Here are the The Bar girls. Are we drunk yet? Click on the photo to enlarge, that way you can check if we already have rosy cheeks. As on me, you can check if I am drunk through my eyes. It is my pair of owl-eye that gets rosy.

The girl in the other photo is my friend Monette. These photos were taken last month I think when she decided to stay for a night at my place. We had a sponsor that day, our ever generous class president who bought us gin and roasted chicken, which we munched on as 'pulutan' when we attacked the gin that night. Due to privacy, I would not like to disclose the sponsors name here.

Anyway, we were drunk that night that we did some crazy stuffs like singing and dancing. We even took videos of us talking crazy talks. Of course, we deleted them after we've watched such shameful videos.

We blamed it all to: The Bar...lol!
I am also flaunting her a thrift buy, my new deep fryer. I got it for as cheap as Php156.00. I've use it a lot already. Cheap and usable, it is just great!

I am just done talking to superman a while ago. We talked about a change in our plan and whatever it is, it is between me and superman. But to give you a hint, that change of plan favored on my part. Although I've had a pile of tests lately (well, I still am), I could say I am victorious! Anyway, he's at his sister's. It was funny because while he was talking on the phone, his sister took stolen shots of him

Sister in law emailed me these photos right away after taking them. Sorry about the blurred photos. These were taken using SIL's phone, which she also uses to email me.

Here's her message on the email she sent together with the photo above:

This one is quite clear. I am glad she got a closer shot of him.
SIL's message along with this photo:

SIL sent these photos while hubby and I were talking. I am so fond of her because she gets funny at times. I am just glad that even though we haven't met in person yet, we get along very well. There'll be more talk between me and hubby here in a minute. I only asked for a break to Adgitize. LOL!

It is time for the delicious meme, Food Trip Friday! Here's my share:

These were the foods we feasted on Valentine's night. I talked before in my previous post about how my sister and I spent our Valentine's Day. We spent Valentine's day together because the man of our life were missing that day. It was sad but managed to celebrate it with smiles. We strolled the mall, we window shopped, ate Chowking luriats and then brought home the snacks we craved for that night. We had corns from Kingcorn and three-flavored fries from Potato Corner. We were bloated!

A Short Break To Write A Post

Last night was a busy night for me. Well, when did I take a break anyway? Once I face the computer, i'll be doing my online thing nonstop as long as my computer allows me and as long as there's nothing important to do offline. Just like tonight, I witnessed a miracle for my computer didn't sleep so I had all the glory to wander online. If my sister didn't repeatedly say she's hungry around 12 midnight, I wouldn't stop. I forgot it was my turn to make a dinner last night because she made the lunch. Tsk, I didn't realized i'd been ignoring her and my household responsibility.

Since it was 12 and I didn't feel like cooking, we just went to our version of mc'do here in the city: the 'mcdoko-doko' our fun name for the line of barbecue eateries at the boulevard. We went home right after we had enough fill on the belly. I am then back to my online thing, as usual. Obviously, I am still awake. I'll sleep later around 7 for I still have to talk to my superman. I am just done doing my round of adgitizing 100 sites. It was a fun blog hopping I did and now I am taking my break to right this post.
Before I hit the publish button, I would like to share with you our stories posted at momgen's The Love Bug. I happened to hop on her site earlier and saw my love story there. I forgot about it so thank God I landed on her site. I enjoyed re-reading and reminiscing the first day I felt a magic. Thanks momgen for including my love story in your list. It's an honor.

Also, I think of doing a major remodeling of this blog. It will happen soon.

Okay, enough with that super powers talk...it's time for my photo shoot for 'Shoot Me'.

These photos were taken together with that ice cold treat, 'mais con yelo' I posted in my previous blog post. It is my youngest sister with in the pictures. We are partners these days. I thank her so much for spending her school vacation with me when, supposedly, she should be home with our parents. We took these shots of us before heading to Video City to return two 'Dalaw(Visit)' movies, which we rented the day before.

Just Beautiful: Old Photograph with Friends

We are just beautiful!
The photo above is my share for today’s ‘just beautiful’. We are just beautiful, aren’t we? This photo was taken way back in 2008 on the 27th of March, two months before my wedding day at Hope's place in Manukan. Yep, I vividly remember the date and the place for I enjoyed a lot that night...and those other nights I spent with these beautiful ladies.

These in the photo above were the closest friends I had back then. One of these friends is Shine (the one in pink, behind me), who had just recently started her own blog, Sunhine's Comfort Zone. Please do visit her blog. This whole blogging thing is all new to her so I hope you can support her blog by following her.

Anyway, only few of these friends have stayed close to my heart despite the distance while the others are out of reach, living their own lives. Some of them may be far beyond my reach but the friendship they've once shared with me remains, as always. That’s why I still have this picture, one of those I’ve saved in a compact disk.

Sister's Bonding Last Night

My sister and I had a great time together last night. We went out and had a medium round of pizza at More Bites Pizza. It served as our dinner. Then after More Bites, we went to Video City and rented a movie, Charlie St. Cloud. After that we walked to the boulevard. It was quite a long walk from Video City but my sister insisted on walking so I could have some walking exercise. It was fine. I was sweating my butt off by the time we reached the boulevard but I was fine (yeah right).

While at the boulevard, we continued walking. We did two rounds. When exhausted, we went to a refreshment parlor located a few walks away from the boulevard. Each of us ordered a regular halo-halo that costs Php15.00 each and took out two glasses of mais con yelo (corn with ice) to munch on while having our movie night at home. The 'take out price' for mais con yelo was Php20.00 and only Php15.00 for dine in.

Chizka was murmuring when we arrived home. I gave her her dinner before I started the movie. I gave her some corn with ice too. She loved it. Check out her photos drinking mais con yelo at my pet blog tomorrow.

My youngest sis shared this picture with me. These were the last alcohol drinks she mixed at their school's bar lab. These are all gin tonics. Tsk, writing these drinks now made my throat longs for a glass. I want that tallest glass. The shortest glass, as you can see is half-empty because my sister had drunk half of it. As always, during their drink mixing at school, she got home drunk that day.

FTF: Burger, Fries and Watermelon Sprite Float

It's time for food trip pals. And this is my 14th week of joining Food Trip. What a coincidence! The food trip host is giving away Php1,000.00 worth of gift certificate to one of the food trippers this week and included in the gift certificate is for Jollibee. And tonight look what my sister and I had for dinner.
Yep, these yummies are already eaten. We are on a diet so these were the only foods we had for dinner. Lol. We are dieting....and we had fast food. It just don't make sense. Really, we were just lazy cooking tonight that's why we went to take out some foods from Jollibee.

Update:
Last  night was the second time we had watermelon sprite float. We usually order coke float from Jollibee together with regular yum or burger steak  but we like watermelon sprite float better than coke since the first day we tried it. There's chemistry between sprite and watermelon or maybe the taste was just playing our taste buds. Try it!

Cracks On The Floor

I was a bit disappointed with the constructors’ job on our bedroom floor. I could say they didn’t do a good job in installing the tiles because after a few months, I already noticed cracks on some tiles. I wonder if we let them Install hardwood floor instead of tiles, would have it been better? Wouldn’t there be any cracks? I am pretty sure we got quality tiles as we, my husband and me, were the ones who hand-picked the tiles from one of the best tile and brick stores here in the city.

I could not put all the blame to the construction workers though. Maybe we were at fault too because we rushed them. We gave them a deadline to finish the job and it was not just the floor they worked on but also the terrace and the bay windows for downstairs and upstairs. We hurried the workers to finish the reconstruction before Christmas last 2009 because we were to celebrate Christmas here, which we didn’t able to. Although they didn’t totally finish the work on the given deadline, they did finish what was needed on Christmas season like the bedroom area and the windows. So instead of celebrating Christmas at our new reconstructed home, we decided on celebrating New Year instead. By that time, the reconstruction was completed.

So it was the tweaking that kept me from digging my files to find a picture of me for the meme. To make it make up with you, here are photos of me.

I thank my youngest sis for taking these pictures of me. I bet these were taken last February. This was one of those nights when the city suffers power shortage and we had no choice but bond downstairs with a cooler atmosphere and entertain ourselves with play cards using a battery-operated lamp as light.

Hard To Breath Because of Smoke and Caffeine?

I had a lot of coffee last night because I wanted to stay away awake for the whole night. I surely had more than ten cups. Even though I planned on staying up all night, my computer didn’t let me. It slept before its sleeping time again. I tried to switch it back on but didn’t power up. I pressed the power button many times like what I used to do to it when feeling not yet finish with Internet for the night. I did the other night too and it worked but last night the computer was stubborn. It used to work back on when switched on many times or after letting it rest for 30 minutes but last night it acted up for some reason.

So I just decided to go to bed. While there lying down, I suddenly felt like losing breath then my visual was spinning. It seemed like I was attacked by asthma but wondered why my head felt so light. Besides, I never had asthma. Or, does my smoking had it developed and now I am having it?

I already stopped smoking but last Saturday I went to a gig. A friend of mine invited me whose boyfriend hosted the event to celebrate the first anniversary of Cebu's Bewear Apparels, a custom tee printing business. Being surrounded by the real funk kids, the rockers who played heavy metal music, beers and smokes, I wasn’t able to handle smoke withdrawal. The urge to smoke while drinking red horse beer was so hard to fight and so I smoked quite a lot. And I think I just got the result of too much smoke last night and too much caffeine.
