Latest Fashion in DC

posted by Rechie on

It might be a bit weird but I painted my finger nails with two different colors today. I put white nail polish on the left fingernails and black on the right. I can see people's reactions seeing my nails and I know it put good and bad impressions on their heads. Some may like, some may dislike but this is what I like. I just thought, if flip-flops can be different colors why can’t be the nails? Actually, it has been the foreigner’s wives’ latest fashion here in DC which started last week when we visited David's Salon. Every "get-together party", each of us should have unique nail colors to show. It is what can give us extra fun and excitement aside from playing cards. So, even if I’m not good at putting nail polish on my own yet I have to. I can't ask my husband to do it, it might just get worst. We are not doing it for bet; we are doing it only for fun. It is not a game where there can be announced winner. If it is then we are all winners in the end of having unique and freaky nail polish in the city.

I got a tag from Best Pinay Mom. Thank you so much for sharing me this wonderful tag. This tag is all about being thankful to God for all the blessings and graces He have bestowed upon us. It's all about reminicsing His greatness and repaying His unconditional and undying love. I am sharing this Thankful tag to my fellow bloggers: vhing, demcy, linGZ, Elizabeth, Rosemarie, and femikey.

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,

If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something,

For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times

During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations

Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge.

Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes

They will teach you valuable lessons.

e thankful when you’re tired and weary.

Because it means you’ve made a difference.

GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.

I got this from Demcy. I just thought of sharing mine too. The meaning is so true.

Your Birthdate: December 22

You tend to be understated and under appreciated.

You have a hidden force to do amazing things, doing them your own way.

People may see you as strange and shy, but they know little.

Your unconventional ways have more power than they (and even you) know.

Your strength: Standing up for what you know is true

Your weakness: You tend to be picky and rigid

Your power color: Silver

Your power symbol: Square

Your power month: April

Turn Your Fat Belly Into Flat

I have gained a lot of weight over the last 2 years. Every time I look at the mirror, my fat belly always catches my attention. I kept complaining about it to my husband. Though he always told me that my body is ok but the mirror in front of me doesn’t lie. I have tried almost everything to get rid of this excess fat like not eating every morning and eating minimum cup of rice. I even avoided chocolates and any kind of sweets yet I get no changes. I am having trouble with my pants now. I used to wear 25 waist-sized pants or jeans, now that I gained 4 inches belly fat I really couldn’t wear those jeans and even my shirts. I get so frustrated sometimes. Everybody wants to look good and pretty and getting a lot of weigh is a big deduction to that. Until I gave up and told myself to be contented of how I weigh now.

Well, it’s not the end of the world. Flat Belly Diet is here to help turning fat belly into flat. Exclusively, it is created for people who have tried everything to get rid of their fat belly like me. Their magazine is looking for a group of women participants having fat belly problem. How to participate is easy, just fill out the application form and after that they will send you mail for you to check if you are eligible or not. If you are eligible then you are the recipient of a free copy of Flat Belly Diet book, a free 1-year membership to Flat Belly Diet website, an exclusive membership to their Success Story Club, the chance to blog about Flat Belly Diet on their website and a first look to their exclusive Flat Belly Videos. Attract Women by Using Axcite Cologne

posted by Rechie on , ,

Pheromones have been proven by scientific studies that it create instant attraction between men and women. Actually, animals release this kind of chemical substance from their body which serves to influence the physiology or behavior of the other member of the same species. It is one of the non-verbal forms that they use to transmit messages to others or even to attract others sexually. Human produce pheromones too which we called Androstenol and Androstenone. We produce this pheromone chemical in small quantity in a form of sweats and in the form of women’s cycle. Therefore, physical attractiveness doesn’t count all the time. Natural body scents still play a pivotal role in one’s life as more researches reported that more human beings are using their sense of smell in finding someone attractive.

Science is now applied to the real world. Here lives the Axcite LP7 cologne which contains pheromones best for men to attract women along the way. This is unlike other pheromone colognes that give null reaction. Its effectiveness has been proven by independent studies and by men who have already tried the product. Don’t wait for tomorrow, try it now. If ever it gives no effect to you, don’t worry it is 100% money back guarantee. Attract women now and be the alpha male of your city.

We got remodelling going on in the house. All we heard today was the noisy sound of the drill and hammer. We are having a patio built on the second floor and having our windows replaced into double pane bay windows. We are tired waking up early in the morning by shouting people and crying babies outside. I am so excited for it to be done. Good thing the workers or the remodellers are quick workers. I have so much plan for the patio. I can hang wet clothes up there for direct sunlight and i will be putting plants. It's time for my green thumbs to shine.

Online Gamers Semi-Old Game Rediscovered

posted by Rechie on

My husband is so obsessed with this game called Unification Wars. It has been so hard for me to get him off his computer every meal. He just discovered it lately online while messing up with my computer. It is a free online gaming system which you can play in three different categories; real time, daily or hourly. The fact that this game is free might be one of the reasons why my husband is so addicted to it since he said he is still learning more about the game. The game deals basically in economics, diplomacy or just all out planet wars. In the game you start out as an empire leader of your planetary system, recruit other players to be underneath you and level up your ministers who helped you provide many things. You need those to expand your economy, military and power by means of diplomacy or military. At the same time you are helping the players you recruited to build up their system and they will then be recruiting players to help them expand their economy and power. To those who are interested Click Here: Unification Wars to play.

Read Full Game Info Here:(from uc.gamestotal)

Unification Wars is a Massive Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG). It is just like a normal PC multiplayer game. However, this is on a massive scale where thousands can play together in a single game. There are different servers, with only 1 game running on 1 server. Here you play with or against other human players as well as non-player characters (NPC).

Short summary of this Game
Other human players can perform diplomatic relationship with you, for example war, alliances, and other forms of treaties.

To wage war, you will have to gather, collect, or capture resources to build up your military power. You will have to find a balance between gathering resources, protecting your empire, and expanding your empire by hostile or peaceful means.

You can research new technology to construct better fleets or to improve existing technology.

Build Empire (Character)
Empire building is the crucial factor of the game. Players may utilize thousand of empire building strategies from being a friendly empire who always lends help to others or you can go another way around; invading every empire you see. Anyway, it is best to allow you to experience it yourself.

Missions provide challenges to players. Each race has unique missions associated to them. Missions are implemented in a variety of quests and campaigns.

GUI (Navigation)
Unification Wars is unlike any other web-based online game. The game interacts to players using HTML and JavaScript interface. The JavaScript client is the enhanced version of the game which integrates high resolution graphics, easy navigation GUI, interactive Online Chat System, sound effects and also background music. Players can choose which GUI preferred at anytime.

Social Aspects
Unification Wars links players all over the world. Plus, Unification Wars players can interact with players from Galactic Conquest. Through the integrated Online Chat System, players can discuss, plan and sell items. Game Administrator and Game Guides are always around to lend assistance to players at anytime.

Players vs. Players
Playing against other players is more demanding compared to fighting Artificial Intelligence. Unification Wars offer non-stop players vs. player action, or even a group of players vs. another group. System Requirement Operating System: Windows 9x/2000/XP, Linux, Unix, OSX and other system with an internet connection.

The highlight of the party was the roasted cow. It really caught my attention. It was my first time seeing a roasted cow. Actually i haven't heard before that a cow can be roasted. That's why i was kind of amazed, i was wondering what was it because it looked like a roasted man. LOL! Anyway, it is what we have for dinner. It taste good. To those who haven't tried it yet. My first Sony experience is with my Sony Cyber-shot DSC- W200 Digital Camera

posted by Rechie on

My first Sony Product is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W200 Digital Camera. My husband bought it for me last year. It is really the best digital camera I have ever had. It comes with a rechargeable battery and the charger is wireless, which is cool because you can carry the charger with you without messing with the wires. So, it is very convenient that I can keep my digital camera safe while charging the battery. With the longer battery life, I have enjoyed taking photos and videos wherever I go for longer hours. The Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo helps a lot in storing more photos and videos. The best thing about this camera is it takes good pictures in different types of settings. Taking pictures is easy using mode dial, up to my desired function. I can as well edit my photos in the camera. I can crop and style photos using the various photo frames provided.

I am enjoying my camera with my computer too by downloading the photos from my camera to the computer. I am using either USB connection or the Memory Stick Pro Duo. For those computers that have no Memory Stick Pro Duo Reader/Writer, Memory Stick Duo Adaptor can be used. This digital camera has helped me a lot with my school projects, in taking photos during educational tours and in taking pictures for our school paper. It has helped during family get-togethers in taking photos and videos as a remembrance of a happy family bonding. I also use it in taking photos for my blog as well as my getaways with my husband.

This is a picture taken in Palawan using my Sony Cybershot DSC-W200 Digital Camera

My digital camera is one of my life's treasure. It really gave significance in my life just like the Sony’s World’s First Digital Still Camera that have helped and will continue to be helping me in taking great pictures.

Boring Fiesta

I went to Manukan (my hometown) today to celebrate the town's fiesta. Mom asked me to come because she prepared few dishes and roasted a pig's head, so i was hurrying home. My husband didn't feel like going out today so i went alone. It's been a long time since i last enjoyed our town's fiesta. I missed almost everything in my hometown-the happy, simple kind of living. As i was on my way i was expecting to see busy roads and crowded streets, full of vendors, buyers and visitors from other town. Of course, it can add joy to the heart seeing happy buyers getting busy along with the happy vendors and seeing happy faces of visitors for having full belly. i miss that! I miss the balloon vendors walking on the street with a bunch of balloons in one hand while calling "Balloon!" to attract the kids. I miss the ice cream vendors pushing that cart full of ice cream with different flavors while ringing the bell, tempting the kids to ask penny from their parents to buy. I was craving for cotton candy and the only place where we can buy those is at the amusement park. Oh, how i love playing games, going on rides and gamble. I planned on visiting all "ukay2x" stores too that house original clothes and stuffs at a low price.

To my dismay, i was just expecting too far from the reality. It was such a very boring fiesta at all. There were only few vendors along the street selling toys and other stuffs. If i am not wrong there were only five "ukay2x" stores. I did not even see balloons. Even the church is not that busy. I was wondering where the churchgoers are. The town was empty. I was hoping for a "5 years ago town fiesta". I guess I gotta wake up, it is 2008 now. I am not saying that i did not enjoy the fiesta, of course i did because i was celebrating it with my family. What i am saying is, i am just sad with the scenario. Where is the progressive Manukan now? I hope it is still there!

Our Little Christmas Tree

posted by Rechie on

Last Friday night, after i got out from my Computer class at six in the evening, i stopped by at Lee Plaza. Lee Plaza is a new mall in Dipolog City that can be considered a real mall. It just had its grand opening two weeks ago and people there just come and go. I was just planning to go there and have a tour but when i saw the store selling Christmas trees and Christmas decorations i was tempted to buy some. I was thinking that it is Christmas time, i should start putting decorations in the house for us to feel the spirit of Christmas. I bought a little Christmas tree of about 3 feet tall and some Christmas tree decorations. I was enjoying picking and comparing decors on which would look better to hang around my little Christmas tree and at the same time enjoying the moment of buying those stuffs, this time, for my own home with my husband because last year i did that was for my mom to decorate our home. My husband's text message asking why i'm not home yet reminded me what time it was. So i went home and surprised him with what i got. We set our little Christmas tree on top of the corner table and put all the decorations on it together. This Christmas will be the happiest Christmas ever, because we will celebrate it together.

Here's How We Spend our Halloween

posted by Rechie on

Halloween is over, i am just wondering how everybody spent their Halloween. Here in the Philippines we do not really practice Halloween party or Costume party but here in the Village where we are residing at they do since there are numbers of foreigner living here now too. I heared foreigners, mainly in the United of America used of celebrating Halloween that way. So here’s how we spent our Halloween:

October 31, 2008, Friday morning we bought plenty bags of candies for the children for their trick or threat at night. At exactly 8 in the evening all the kids in our small community were gathered together wearing their costumes and started running fast from house to house. Each of them is trying to bag more candies. It was a new experience to me; it was funny looking at the kids running after another while holding their bags or baskets full of candies and yet trying to get some more.

Sorry for the blurry pictures. In the pictures it is
my husband giving candies to the kids

The next morning, November 01, it was All Saints Day. I prepared some dishes I will use as offering for our small altar to be needed at night. I bought candles and fresh flowers as well. We (some Filipinos, maybe some are not practicing it) used to offer foods or drinks on our altar. Those are foods and drinks for the souls of our loved-ones, family and relatives who died, it’s a way of sharing it to them as a family. Aside from the offerings we also light candles on the altar together with the foods. Lighted candles are counted as to how many souls you welcome in your house or how many loved-ones you have who have passed away. We also light candle outside the door (door of course is open) to light their way in. The offering of the foods, the lighting of candle should be started at exactly 8 in the evening followed by Prayers for the Souls. I have grown up, learned and seen all these things from my family and relatives. When I was a kid my mom always does all these. It has been a family practice, and now that I am married I will be continuing this practice.

Here is our small altar.
I lighted 9 candles on with little offerings with a pack of marlboro lights.

All Souls Day, November 2, of course I went home to Manukan and as what we used to do every November 2 , I and my family and this time with my husband went to visit all our loved-ones grave and offered prayers for them. It was my husband's first exprience celebrating Halloween like that too as if all the cemeteries were having a fiesta. Of course, that is how Filipinos give importance to thier beloveds who have passed yet they will forever be remembered. We lighted candles and stayed for a few for a little chitchat.
