I Was Off To Attend a Wedding Ceremony

This is just a quick note of apology for being absent for 3 days. I went to my hometown last Friday afternoon and stayed there until Sunday.

I would like to thank all my visitors for visiting this blog even though they were wondering why they haven’t heard from me since last Friday. One of the beauties in the family tied the knot with her beloved just last Saturday, June 27 at 10 in the morning. It was a one joyous celebration that will be forever remembered by the married couple and their witnesses.

More info next post…. I am still working on getting the wedding pictures to share to you.

MM # 3: My Hero Is You by Hayden P.

It is Music Monday again folks. I had been thinking on what music I should post today among my favorites. And since the official Fathers Day here in the Philippines just passed few hours ago, I thought of choosing a song that I can dedicate to all fathers here in the blog sphere and around the world to pay tribute to their hard works in keeping their home and family lively, strong and full of love. Therefore, I came up of sharing to MM participants today the music entitled “My Hero Is You” by Hayden Panettiere. Have you heard this music before?

This music is the soundtrack of the 53rd Disney Channel Original Movie, “Tiger Cruise” starring Hayden herself, and her brother Jansen Panettiere, and of course Bill Pullman who played the role as their father, a US Navy Commander and an executive officer of the USS Constellation. It is such a very touching movie about a young girl having a mission of convincing her dad to set his job aside and come home. Yet, in the end of the movie the daughter told the father to continue what he was doing. Find out why by watching the movie.

So, here is the music video, i hope you'll enjoy this muc. To all fathers out there, Happy Fathers Day to all of you. This music is for you.

You know I try to be All that I can
But there's a part of me I still don't understand
Why do I only see What I don't have
When my reality Its things are not that bad
Your faith has shown me that
When my world goes crazy You won't let go
When the ground gets shaky You give me hope
When I try to push you away
You never move, yeah
Now when I start doubting you help me see
There's a strength, and a mind, and a power in me
Oh believe me there ain't nothing I can't do
My hero is you, yeah My hero is you
I never saw the way you sacrificed
Who knew the price you paid
How can I make it right
I know I've gotta try
When my world goes crazy you won't let go
When the ground gets shaky you give me hope
When I try to push you away you never move, yeah
Now when I start doubting you help me see
There's a strength, and a mind, and a power in me
You believe there ain't nothing I can't do
My hero is you, yeah My hero is you
And I hope that you can see
You're everything that I wanna be, ooh
When my world goes crazy you won't let go
When the ground gets shaky you give me hope
When I try to push you away you never move, yeah
Now when I start doubting you help me see
There's a strength, and a mind, and a power in me
Oh believe me there ain't nothing I can't do
My hero is you, yeah My hero is you My hero is you

Photohunt 14: Creamy

I had been missing photo hunting for three consecutive Saturdays now, if I am not mistaken. I couldn’t find time taking photos for the past themes. Well, obviously I am playing today, tonight rather. This Saturday’s theme is “creamy” and since I didn’t cook something creamy today I just took picture of this unused cream cheese. This cream cheese had been stored in the fridge for a month now. I am supposed to make Blueberry cheesecake but unfortunately I cannot find blueberry here or should I say I am very much occupied with my “farming session” (facebook) that going to the store is such a disturbance to my farming career. Happy Creamy Saturday everyone!

God Is Light

“I have come to the world as Light
so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.”
John 12:46
(Click here to view my scripture card)

Today is my first participation to Word Filled Wednesday. I came up with the idea of posting my scripture card for WFW to my scrap-collection blog and my supporting message regarding the verse here. I hope this is acceptable.

So back to WFW. As I was reading the participants verses, the words strike me straight to the head and made me realize that I have deserted Him for a long time already without knowing it. I failed going to our church every Sunday for a long time now. I failed to call His name whenever I am in great happiness yet I kept calling Him when I am in need. So, with this, I hope this will help me deliver the words of God to mysel as well as to others.

As to my understanding to the verse I picked today, i believe that if we believe in God, we will not be living a life in darkness. As long as we believe in him, we are living a happy and contented life with Him. He never fails to give us light so we can see the right path we are leading to. He sparks us hope when we are at loss. He glints our hearts with joy when we are in vain. He flashes our minds with best and right decisions when we are confuse. Believe in God because He has been serving as our light..

What Is Your 1950's Name?

I grabbed this from Grace of My Wedding Day. I found it interesting and since she is passing this tag to everybody, I thought of grabbing it. Why not? I want to know what my 1950's name too. I do have a fantasy name that if I was given power to talk to my mother right after she delivered me, I should have told her "ma, my name is Samantha Florin". Lol. Yes, that is the name that I fantasized since I started learning how to write but because of the fact that I already have a special name that my mother have given to me, I'll be keeping that fantasy name forever in my fantasy palace. LOL. So, here it is. If I had lived in the 1950's, my name would have been.....

Your 1950s Name is: Yvonne Virginia

I can't imagine how my recent name turn into something different as in Yvonne Virginia. Hmmn, the combination of my 1950's name is quite acceptable. Why not give my 1950's name to my future daughter? If i am going to have any. Feel free to join and play along. This is fun!

Here are the rules:
1. Take this quiz.
2. Post the result in your site.
3. Acknowledge My Daily Thoughts and Moods by writing her link in number one of your list, followed by yours and then proceed to link other friends whom you would like to know their names in 1950s. Go back to this page, to be added in the list and so you can copy and add to your list those who are listed here. Come on, make this a long list of fun. The first one has been done for you. My name in the 1950s is Gwendolyn Silvia, yikes, seems like I don't like my name, then. Try yours. This is a booster to increase our technorati, too.

1. Imelda (My Daily Thoughts and Moods) - Gwendolyn Silvia 2. Cecile (Down Home with the Kenyons) 3. Amiable Amy (Discover the Simplicity of my World) 4. Amy (Business Matters) 5. Amyat (Beyond Photography) 6. Grace (My wedding Day) 7. Rechie Ruth (Chuchieshideaway) - Yvonne Virginia 8. You are next......

MM # 2: Take My Breath Away by Berlin

posted by Rechie on ,

It is Music Monday time. Hmm, let’s see what I have here. My pick for today is “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin. This song is also memorable for me. Know why? When my husband (he was my boyfriend at the time) came to meet me for the second time (the first time we met was in Manila) in my hometown (Mindanao), we went to a karaoke bar with my siblings. Well, it was my idea. I know my siblings love to sing too like me. We actually used to sing at home because we have a small karaoke machine where we can sing as we please without limit. So there we were picking songs. I was hesitated to sing at first, I was shy because my husband was there. So, I let my sisters and brother sing but I didn’t. Hubby noticed it and asked me why I am not singing. Left no choice, I picked the song “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin. I haven’t sung the song in our karaoke machine before but I decided to give it a try. I was able to deliver the tune right although I was shaking. It was the first time I sing having him around as one of the audiences. I can sing up to my lungs only with my family but not with other people around. After I sung, I heard the best compliment I have ever received in life - my husband told me I have a good voice. Wink.

This song is also a soundtrack of a movie, Top Gun starring the lead actor Tom Cruise as Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. Check out the music video:

Watching every motion in my foolish lover's game
On this endless ocean finally lovers know no shame
Turning and returning to some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion as you turn around and say
Take my breath away, take my breath away

Watching I keep waiting still anticipating love
Never hesitating to become the fated ones
Turning and returning to some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion as you turn around and say
Take my breath away, take my breath away

Through the hourglass I saw you in time you slipped away
When the mirror crashed I called you and turned to hear you say
If only for today I am afraid
Take my breath away take my breath away

Watching every motion in this foolish lover's game
Haunted by the notion somewhere there's a loving flame
Turning and returning to some secret place inside
Watching in slow motion as you turn around and say
Take my breath away my love
Take my breath away my love
Take my breath away
Take my breath away

Happy Independence Day to all Filipinos!

I would like to thank Katherine and Lis for stopping by here in my blog to remind me of the Philippine Independence day. It is not that I forgot about it, it is just nice that my co-Filipinos really celebrate the very special day. How could we, Filipinos, ever forget the day we won our freedom? Thanks for our heroes who made this day possible.

Happy Independence Day to all Filipinos!

"The Philippine Declaration of Independence occurred on June 12, 1898 in the Philippines, where Filipino revolutionary forces under General Emilio Aguinaldo (later to become the Philippines' first Republican President) proclaimed the sovereignty and independence of the Philippine Islands from the colonial rule of Spain after the latter was defeated at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War. The declaration, in the form of a proclamation, in the presence of a huge crowd, was done on June 12, 1898 at the ancestral home of General Emilio Aguinaldo between four and five in the afternoon in Cavite el Viejo (now Kawit), Cavite, some 30 kilometers South of Manila. The event saw the unfurling of the National Flag of the Philippines, made in Hong Kong by Mrs. Marcela Agoncillo, Lorenza Agoncillo and Delfina Herboza, and the performance of the Marcha Filipina Magdalo, as the Nation's National Anthem, now known as Lupang Hinirang, which was composed by Julian Felipe and played by the San Francisco de Malabon Marching band."

Lucky To Get My Postal ID

posted by Rechie on

I finally got my postal ID today, unintentionally. It was a very big bonus because I never actually planned on getting it. I was only planning on getting Barangay Clearance from my hometown. That’s why, as you have noticed, I was off from blogging for two days again because I went to Manukan and stay there at my parents' house for two days and nights. My plan actually was to get that clearance and bring it here in Dipolog City where I am residing at right now to be able to get my postal ID from here since it is one of the requirements. Luckily, I went to check my hometown’s postal office if they have IDs in stock and yes, they have. See how lucky I was? It was really beyond my expectation because every time I go to our postal office, the officials often say “no more”. So, I grabbed the opportunity before they run out of postal IDs again as they have always been.

I got awards again from Mr. D of Basicbloganomics, Abie and Meryl. Thanks a lot for these awards my friends. Thanks for always sharing me awards whenever your blogs receive one although I am late in grabbing them at times.

1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link. No objections to this one but it sounds funny that acceptance of the award is a must.

2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.
I am passing these awards to my blogging friends: Demcy, Cacai, Utotmopink, Hopeful, Rosemarie, Ate Vhing, Grace, Ate Tammy, Ate Madz, Mommyelvs, Lisgold, Kcat, Benchgrace, Maxi, and Sissy's Pastime. I hope you can grab the awards sisters. Have a great day.
