TOo Late for Regrets

I am so FRUSTRATED! Don’t get me wrong. I am not frustrated with anybody. Neither my marriage life nor what I have right now are reasons of my frustration. I am not frustrated with the course I am taking or the teachers in school not even with my classmates. I am frustrated with myself. Supposedly, like my classmates, I should be preparing papers of OJT (On Job Training) for next semester. But nope! It is very clear that I cannot graduate this year. This is my entire fault but it is too late for regrets now. I should be walking on the aisle, not to the altar this time but to the stage to claim my diploma by the end of the school year. I failed few subjects last year that I have to take up next year and a year more. Help! So bad, one of the subjects is English. I have to take up 3 English subjects; hopefully I can get summer classes for this not to reach my two-year course to four years. Such a shame! Hopefully, I’ll graduate next year if my teacher will be good to me…! LOL!

New King of The Hill

I have been wanting to post this, i just couldn't find time yesterday and the day before yesterday. I should say i was not inspired, my insomnia attacked that i had no sleep for 20 hours last Friday. It's so hard to sleep when your mind is awake.

I watched the "King of the Hill" (IPT- 8 ball) pool championship game aired on ESPN last Thursday afternoon (Phil. time) at our weekly hang-out. It was not my intention to watch it but my husband came to me in the other part of room (at our gambling table) telling me that they are watching it as they were playing pool. Since, i was not playing cards i decided to watch. It was Efren "bata" Reyes, The Magician vs Mike "Mouth" Sigel (depending champion) aspiring to keep the title "King of the Hill 2008" with $1000000 prize. I was intrigue, i heard a lot about this Filipino player who always wins pool games since 1984. I am not a Pool fan, my husband has been trying to teach me how to play. Well, i know how to shoot the ball into the pockets but i don't know the tricks. It's a boring game for me.

The object of this championship game was the "best out of 3 sets" winning 8 games. During the first set, Reyes kicked Sigel's butt(8-0). Yes, it was really impressive, i cheered for Reyes vs the white guys (hubby's friends around). I was so proud of this Filipino Player, he was reigning the table as if he was the only one playing. The second set was a little bit difficult for Reyes. Sigel got back on track as he make his shoots to depend and keep his title as the "King of the Hill". Sigel did not make it, he was unable to depend his title scoring 5 games. Reyes ended the game with his last shoot to the title "King of the Hill 2008" and to $1000000. Therefore i conclude that he really is the Filipino's pride and pool game is fun where you'll use ur head to think ahead of shoots to make.

Thanks Demcy for this award. You are such a friend so hard to find.

They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are people who are not interested when we give them a prize and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they cut or that they propagate? Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in return must make the same thing and put this text.

Im passing this to eight friends of mine.

1. Mabel

2. Winona

3. Gadis

4. Nicole

5. Life's Journey

6. Health Zone

7. Femikey

8. Reading Lounge

The Longest Legs and The Shortest Man

Do you have long legs as long as 4 feet and 4 inches? If you have, imagine a 2 feet, 5 inches man standing between your 4 feet, 4 inches legs. Wow! That was my reaction as I was looking at the photo in Yahoo’s most emailed photos last night. I only stand 4 feet and 9 inches and I can’t even imagine myself standing next to somebody with that height of legs let alone a 2feet and 5 inches man in between.

From Yahoo news, Yahoo’s Most Emailed Photos:
He, Pingping from Inner Mongolia, China's autonomous region, the world's smallest man sits underneath Svetlana Pankratova from Russia, the Queen of Longest Legs, as they pose at Trafalgar Square in London, Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008. Pingping, born with primordial dwarfism, holds the Guiness World Record for the smallest man at 74.61 cms (2 feet and 5.37 inches) and Pankratova holds the Guiness World Record for the longest leg of any woman at 132 cms (4 feet 4 inches) in length.

PDPR SEMINAR

A Personality Development and Public Relation Seminar exclusively for vocational students was held last Sunday at Vocational Technology Institute building in Andres Bonifacio College, Dipolog City. It started at nine in the morning hosted by Ms. Cheryl Garcia, our classmate, who introduced and welcomed the honored guest speaker Mrs. Janette Ranillo Asprer. I was so glad I did able to attend the seminar because I learned a lot.

The seminar was all about developing one’s personality to attain proper etiquette in any fields. What is personality? Personality is a sum of the physical, mental, emotional and social characteristic of a person or an individual. How do we behave with people and how we cooperate in the community or organization? Personality is the organized pattern of behavioral characteristics of an individual. How do we carry ourselves in times of crisis? How do we behave in front of our enemies and friends? It is the visible aspect of one’s characteristics as it impresses others.

The first topic being discussed was about “After College”. What is our ambition? How do we see ourselves after college? Can we be a worker, a wife, a husband, a computer technician, an office manager or an executive in a corporate? Regardless of what our profession will be, we all need personality development or personality enhancement on how we behave ourselves. It is very important because wherever we go, we meet people, we interact with people and we are judge on how we act, on how we bring ourselves and on how we talk as it is part of our personality.

The next topic was about people’s social practice around the globe, the proper etiquette. Talking about etiquette, it is a social grace; a propriety of conduct as established in any class or community or for any occasion. Actually proper etiquette was already practiced long ago in London. Different nationalities have different culture, thus Philippine culture differs from any other county. Most of Philippine etiquette was derived from America. The most varied culture is Asia, although most of them are informed into Philippines etiquette due to globalization.

Third topic was about Job Hunting and Interviews. What we are and what grade we have in college is very important. It does not matter if we are top grader during high school and elementary, what matters most is the grade we have in college because it serves as our recommendation and proof that we deserve the job we are applying for. Good grades gain good jobs. During interviews you have to be early and well prepared. Dress appropriately and neatly. Speak clearly and should make an eye to eye contact to the interviewer. Addressing the interviewer twice is very impressive. Shake hands twice and thank twice.

Fourth was about the workplace and colleagues. If there’s a competition inside the classroom there is also a competition inside the workplace between workers and colleagues. We should play well with our co-workers, get along with them and go with the flow. We have to be noticed by our employer in working a good job, if you are known you are close to getting a promotion. We should work harder and smarter and productively. Be humble with the boss because employees can’t win a fight with the boss. Know who you are working with and accept politics.

Very important is table etiquette. Whether we have a job or not, rich or poor, a manager or just a secretary, we need to know about table etiquette even we are just home. Everybody have the right to learn about table etiquette and it is nice that we know how to eat properly during parties or even inside our home. Here are the basics; 1. Once seated unfold the napkin 2. Never start eating before the most. 3. Keep elbows off the table. 4. When finished eating, position the cutlery side by side and 4 o’clock pouting the center of the plate.

Grooming and personal hygiene. It is about taking care of ourselves. Proper use of make-up gives more appealing look in addition to carrying one’s self properly in interacting with people. When we are working in an office we have to be entertaining to the clients or costumers. We should treat them nicely and politely.

Long Saturday Trip

Last Saturday, we were invited again by our friends (fil-for couple of course) to a birthday party. It was their 2nd son’s first birthday. It was a freaking long trip that if I only knew we should have not come. The zigzag road freaked me out the entire trip; it made me dizzy that I almost throw off inside the car. I was not able to enjoy the site seeing, as planned, because I was busy making myself calm. It was almost two hours trip from our home. Anyway, it was great that my husband and I did able to attend the party and visited another place. The place is called Sapang Dalaga or Virgin Stream according to my own terminology.

We arrived there at 2:00 pm; the party has not yet started so as what we used to, we played cards while the foods were not yet served. After two hits we were then gathered around the buffet table. Two days in a row we attended kiddie party this week. I am just thinking, we always receive invitation from our friends for their son’s and daughter’s birthday celebration but we haven’t even sent invitation for our own bundle of joy’s birthday yet. Well, I guess we have to think of making one first before thinking about that party stuffs.

A “fil-for” couple, our new friends that we just met here in Dipolog City invited us to attend the celebration of their baby girl’s 1st birthday last Friday. The place is just a few blocks away from our home, so it was very convenient for us or for me rather that i was able to get my hair done before the party started. It was a Jollibee kiddy party. Hmmnn…sounds delicious isn’t it? Well, the foods were really delicious that it made my belly stretched a little bit more. Plus, they prepared homemade cakes and some Filipino dishes, hmmnn…I won’t say NO when it comes to that. Lol.

What caught my attention was the Jollibee mascot. It unleashed the kid in me. There was no fun just by watching the kids happily dancing with the mascot so I joined them showing off my best kiddy moves. It was fun dancing with the lively, big, dancing bee and receiving it's naughty wink. Before the party ended, i did not forget to ask my husband to take picture of me and the Jolly Bee.

David's Salon pimped my hair today! I got my hair trimmed and had hair cellophane and hair spa. I am so happy now i have my best hair doctor. I have now my number one choice of beauty salon here in Dipolog City, the David's salon. They had their Grand Opening today and i was their, of course, and got my hair done. I kept track on when they'll gonna open so i can avail their introductory prices and promos and yes i got. I booked them early today on what time ill be there so i will not be wasting time waiting for my turn since my time is budgeted.

This picture was taken at David's Salon
with my senior hairstylist Mr. Jeff

David's Salon is the most known of being the best beauty salon not only here in the Philippines but around the world. They are using imported products mainly L'oreal, which what they used for my hair. In addition, the place was so comfortable and the people were very warm. They treat their costumers like a princess and they give extra, 100% hair care. You'll be relaxed with their massage while waiting for the timer to alarm as to when they'll have to wash the treatment they applied on you hair. If you don't feel like having massage, they have a bunch of new magazines updated with latest gossips and fashion trends.

Thursday is Dennis and Chin's day. Meaning, every thursday hangout is the couple's house. It is just 15 to 20 mins ride using my husband's raider 150, speed 6 bike from our home in Orchid Villa. Dennis, which is an American married to Ate Chin, a filipina. They are living here in the Philippines for years now and will be staying for good.

Since it's Thursday, early at 2 pm today we already got ourselves ready and arrived at the Thursday hangout right on time. Just like an ordinary party day, the men hang around the pool table and by the bar while women gathered together to our gambling table. We played tonghits as usual , it's kinda like rummy though they differ in some moves. I lost P400.00 today, not bad, unlike last week i lost a thousand. Anyway, we are not counting on how much we can bag every play as long as we enjoyed playing, that's all that matters.

Women enjoying the games, while men enjoying the drinks.

Most Handsome Husband Award

This post is a continuation to my earlier post, the Gloria de Dapitan Adventure. The highlight of that night was my award from the "bring me game". I won a piece of beach shorts from Beach Feva, one of the shops inside Glorietta. What's funny was I grabbed my husband and run him through the stage not knowing what's going on. I was not aiming to get the prize, my purpose was to show to him and to all the people there how proud i am for having him as my husband. He maybe not handsome in other people's eyes, but for me he is the most handsome man i ever laid eyes upon. Therefore i deserved the award of having the Most Handsome Husband.

.
Showing off my award with my handsome husband dear.

We had lots of fun moments yesterday at Glorietta or Gloria de Dapitan. They were celebrating the new official opening time in all establishments which is 12:00 noon and closing time 11:00 pm. Gloria de Dapitan, (in US standards is a mini mall) a gated business community wherein various forms and kinds of establishments are built inside. It is located in the Shrine City of Dapitan, off the beach. The place is really amazing, worth to visit for a night adventure. There are also hotels and restaurants for your convenience. When you get tired of strolling around and need some relaxation, you can see various hotels and restaurants outside Glorietta, along the beach for you to choose from.

Inside Glorietta. Feel the solemnity at day time and rock with the dancing water and lights with fountain at night!

Though we were kind of late and missed the parade early in the morning at 7, we did not miss so much fun at all. I was really never thinking of coming because there was something more important going on in school but I couldn’t stand the sadness on my hubby’s face missing the especial event including rounds of beers and fun debates with his circle of friends. Besides, it would be inappropriate not to come since we were invited by the owners of Circus Caffe, which are friends of ours.

We arrived around 3:00 pm; the dishes for buffet are already served. It was P200.00 eat all you can service. I should have taken a picture of their plate so you can see how big the plate was. Gezz! It was big enough for 4 people. So what me and my husband did, we just eat in one plate since we used of eating in just one plate at home and any other parties. The delicious foods made me forget about taking photos for my blog at the meantime.

Hubby and me, full with our late lunch.

After messing up with the foods, the husbands' as usual, were gathered on their beer table while me, Ate Melodina(Circus Caffe) and Ate Melchie(BMB) went to shop. Here are some photos for you:

Shopping center inside Glorietta.

I'm wearing my new Abercrombie Tshirt i just bought in this store.

Husbands beer time.

Later that night, we though of playing cards while another set of dishes served for dinner. Playing cards(tonghits) has been wives usual practice once we get together, wherever, we don’t care as long as there is play cards.

Foreigners' Wives caught on gambling!!!
We decided to stop only when loud remix music played and on stage were two mascots gracefully dancing along the beat. The program had begun. There were kids sung their favorite songs. Some boys grooving on stage showing off their best moves. There were Trivia Questions and “bring me” games, which, I won twice to be explained in my later post.
Mascots can do the beat!

Group of talented kids.

8 Random Things About Me

I got another tag from Maribel, thank you so much for tagging. I do appreciate it thinking i am just new in this field and still in the process of learning and exploring yet there are people who already think about me. Thank you so much for the friendship

Here are 8 Things I can share about me.

1. I grew up in a middle class family where we earn enough for us to eat 3 meals a day and buy some piece of luxury stuffs we want.

2. I have experienced difficulties at 16 when my mother applied to work abroad and failed that caused downfall but i never had a remorse about that. She was just thinking about my college education since staying here in our town having only a store as our means of living is not enough to support it.

3. Since i am the eldest, at 16 i worked various kinds of job. I have been an all around maid, a nanny, a factory worker and a waitress. Because of less experience i was kicked out many times until i was hired to work as a computer attendant by a rich friend in Manila. Through that, i found the man i was dreaming of who saved me and my family from that dark horizon and at the same time showed me his unconditional love and introduced me what love is.

4. To show my love and devotion to him, i did not hesitate to answer him "yes" when he asked for my hands to my parents. May 18, 2008, I've became officially Mrs. Wilks, his wife.

As my parents walked me on the aisle.

5. I have good heart and my husband have proven that right, specially when it comes to my family because i love them so dearly. My family are my best friends!

With my sisters Cheep and Chem and the only brother Botchie

6. I am a good friend, the proof are my bunches of friends i have wherever i go. I am always a joker in group or should i say a clown for i can always make them laugh and forget their problems for a moment.

7. What you see is not all what you can get in me. I may look mean and snobby at first but definitely i am not mean nor a snob. Get to know me and you'll know I am a very approachable person and warm hearted. I am easy to get along with and i can get along with people easily.

8. I am flirtatious and naughty only for my hubby and silly according to him.

Now I tag 8 people!
1. Demcy 2. Sweet Pinay
Simple Rules
1. Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
3. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
4. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog.
